A Gray Carol on Gray Street

Krzysztof Komeda's music for the theater performance "Breakfast at Tiffany's" gained its gray-caroled shade thanks to the words of Wojciech Młynarski.

This Christmas carol is as gray as your eyes, as the clouds edge
is still waiting for a gift from a gray cloud of white snow.
The snow will turn the gray into white and it will take heartfelt trouble
Fear will disappear beneath him, and grief will disappear from the heart, pain and cold
Li li laj will disappear heart pain and cold.

We will love each other again, we forgive each other many sins
Regret should not be kept by anyone the born Son of God
The snow will try but will melt at some dawn
And the gray carol will be very ashamed for us again
Li li laj will be very ashamed of us.

For when our joy dies,
And the ordinary day will come
Cold eyes will flash back,
Anger and dust lies will return
So the Christmas carol is so gray
Like a urban day cloudy gaze
He is waiting for a change of hearts, love all year round
Li li laj, love all year round.
